Creative Visionary Program - Art2Life
Event Website: http://Art2Life.com
“Creativity is not something we ever lose, but rather something that has just been overlooked, possibly relegated years ago to a still, unused corner of our being. However, it still remains quietly within us all, patiently waiting, just below the surface of things. Till now.”
— Nicholas Wilton
Come experience an Art2Life Workshop, designed for the absolute beginner or seasoned artist, and get inspired, again. I started the Art2Life Creative Visionary Program on February 27, 2020 after following a FREE online WORKSHOP where Nicholas took us through the first 3 Principles of Art—Design, Value & Colour. I couldn’t wait to learn more, and little did I know, it wasn’t just information we’d be getting out of this workshop, but really getting below the surface and discovering what inspires us, what we desire, and looking at our artwork from the past, present and where we imagine going in the future!
This is a 12 week online program and by the end of it I will have had an opportunity to use acrylic paints, instead of watercolour, and hopefully will be producing art that REALLY REFLECTS WHO I AM! Pretty exciting!

“Coming Home” - an exhibition of original watercolour paintings by Barb DeRousie
Event Website: http://coastcollective.ca
Coast Collective Art Centre, 318 Wale Road, Victoria (Colwood), BC, Canada
Reception: 25 May 2019
This is Barb’s first ever solo art show! An exhibition and sale of watercolour paintings depicting images of the Pacific Westcoast, from her birthplace in Victoria, British Columbia to the Pacific coast of Mexico. She leaves the cooler temps in the winter for sun and surf and reconnects with friends in a quaint Mexican beach town. It feels like COMING HOME-a place of great relaxation and beauty, conducive to creativity. Here she also reflects on the beauty of the Westcoast where she grew up and always appreciates COMING HOME.
The show starts Wednesday, May 22nd and goes until Sunday, June 2nd from 11-5, closed Monday and Tuesday. A wine and cheese reception will be held Saturday, May 22nd to meet the artist.

Kaleidoscope of Colour Annual Student Art Show & Sale
Dogwood Room, Saanich Fairgrounds
I took my first stab at watercolour painting in the winter of 2012 when I went to an art class with instructor Greg Swainson. I loved how he “made magic” with his paint brush and was inspired to continue taking several more of his classes. When I completed one of my first paintings done in a class with Greg, called Asian Reflections (see in Gallery), he inquired if I’d ever thought about selling it, and that I did, along with 10 other paintings!
